Haslet, Texas, December 3, 2012: Baja Racing of Texas (BRT) today announced the desert racing schedule for the upcoming 2013 season. BRT has secured a large, new venue in North Western Texas for the 2013 season and beyond. “We have been working hard to secure the new venue, and we felt it was worth delaying the schedule release until we had the primary stages complete,” said Chris Leitner, President of BRT. “More information about this venue will be released shortly, but rest assured it’s something that has never been seen before in U.S. Off-Road racing history.”
In addition to a new venue, Baja Racing of Texas will be working together with the Texas Desert Racing Association (TDRA) for the 2013 season. BRT and TDRA will be offering points at two joint events for 2013. TDRA’s Firecracker 250 on April 6th will be a points race for BRT racers. BRT’s Chupacabra 300 on August 31st will be a points race for TDRA racers.
The BRT 250 in July will count only toward Baja Racing of Texas points series for 2013. The 2013 schedule is as follows:
April 5-6 TDRA Firecracker 250 Notrees, Texas
July 18-21 BRT 250 Crawford Ranch, Amarillo, Texas
Aug. 29-Sept 1 BRT Chupacabra 300 Crawford Ranch, Amarillo, Texas
Baja Racing of Texas recently completed an ambitious year of racing with three points races, and sponsorship of the Jake Youngblood Fun Run, the Texas Raptor Run and the Ultra4 2012 Championship in conjunction with Hammerking Productions, the force behind what many consider the toughest one-day off-road race on the planet: King of The Hammers.
BRT was formed to continue the growth of off-road racing in Texas and to provide additional safe and fun racing venues for the entire off-road community. The organization continues to promote all aspects of desert racing, responsible environmental use and motorsports safety and education.
“All of us at Baja Racing of Texas are looking forward to an amazing 2013 season,” Leitner continues. “For more information about the 2013 schedule and the shared points system please contact BRT or TDRA and we’ll see you in the desert.”
